How Mastermind.com Helps You Go From Business Operator to Business Owner

Did you know there is a difference between business operators and business owners? Most people think they are the same thing, but they’re not.

If you own your own business yet you feel like you are working non-stop with no time for anything else, you’re still stuck in business operator mode, and you need Mastermind.com.

You can learn how to make the shift from business operator to a business owner for those who have already figured it out. Dean Graziosi and Tony Robbins created the Mastermind.com platform so you don’t have to struggle anymore.

Money Doesn’t Equal Happiness

During a live training, business owner Deanna talked about how she doesn’t lack money, but she does lack happiness.

“I make money and I got my dream car, a nice house, and all that, but I work like a donkey every single day, fifteen hours a day. I hardly have any time off and I don’t see my partner, even though we live together,” Deanna said. “I have money, but there’s no happiness, no holidays, and it’s just impossible. I’m exhausted every day. I want this to change.”

Many entrepreneurs have had the same experience as Deanna. They work constantly but never feel like they’re able to enjoy life.

“This is an area I have some expertise in primarily because I did the same thing,” said Tony Robbins. “I worked seven days a week for 17 to 20 hours a day before I turned 29 years old.”

“The difference was, I found enjoyment in what I was doing.” Robbins said. “Even though I was burned out, I felt what I was doing was meaningful. If what you’re doing doesn’t feel meaningful, you either gotta make a change in your perception or you need to change businesses. If it’s not meaningful, it’s not going to be worthwhile.”

Before you decide to change businesses, make sure you know if it’s really not meaningful, or if it’s not feeling meaningful because you are exhausted. Sometimes it really is meaningful, but you can’t tell because you’ve pushed too hard for too long and exhaustion has taken over.

Are You the Operator or the Owner?

There are two roles you can play in your business. You can be an operator or an owner.

“Every operator I ever speak to does it all themselves,” said Robbins. “They work 20 hours a day just like I did. They are exhausted, stressed, and usually have cash flow problems. Even though they’re working their tail off and even if they do make money, they’re so exhausted they don’t get to enjoy anything with the people they love and they burn out.”

That is the definition of an operator, and sadly, 95 percent of all business owners are operators. With the expertise of Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi, the Mastermind.com platform can show you how to go from operator to owner by selling a digital product based on the knowledge you already have.

Life as a Business Operator

“In the early days, I did everything because that’s what we all do,” said Robbins. “You do everything because you hired the best person you could at the cheapest price, the most skilled person at the cheapest price. You don’t pay yourself very much in the beginning. You work your tail off.”

Recruiting the right help can be difficult. You may know all kinds of good people, but they don’t have the skills needed for the position you need to fill, and you can’t afford to hire someone who is highly skilled.

As a business owner, you think everything you have is on the line. It’s tempting to take control of every position and just do it yourself. Don’t! When you do this, you trap yourself into forever being an operator in your business and forever being stressed.

“What you have to be able to do is let other people learn, which means you have to let them fail,” Robbins said. “Even though it feels like life and death, if you can’t let them fail, they can’t learn. You can speed it up with great training and great instruction.”

An operator will always end up doing everything because they don’t trust anybody else to get it right. When others make mistakes, an operator will take back the task and do it themselves. This keeps them trapped working IN their business instead of ON their business.

The whole goal of a business is to build something successful by building something that will run on its own. It takes discipline to allow others to make mistakes. Your job is to accelerate the training process by allowing people to help you, even if they make a few mistakes along the way.

Life as a Business Owner

Dean Graziosi has 82 companies, is a father of five – the youngest of which is four weeks old – and loves spending time with his grandchildren. A person can’t juggle all that successfully and still be an operator.

“I have a mission, and I’ve built a team of extraordinary people,” said Graziosi. “Your goal has gotta be to say, ‘I’m gonna become an owner, and I’m sick of being an operator.’ An operator goes nowhere because it’s not just about money. It’s about the meaning and doing something meaningful. You can make a lot of money and be miserable.”

The first thing you have to do is own your time. Pay attention to where your time goes. What tasks wouldn’t have to be performed by you? Hire people and properly train them so more of your time can go into ownership and the tasks only you can do. This will actually make you money.

Finding Fulfillment as a Business Owner

“I worked on cars and real estate while I was working on my knowledge business, and when the knowledge business started making me enough money, I quit cars,” said Graziosi. “I’ve had more success in the knowledge industry than anything else.”

Even though Dean Graziosi has been so successful he wouldn’t have to work another day in his life, he is enthusiastic and finds fulfillment in his work.

“I love what we do. We get to impact lives for a living,” said Graziosi. “There is nothing greater. I’ve seen it all, and it’s pretty amazing.”
